There is always an upside

In the mornings I go to the park and I have been doing this for nearly two years and so my body is ripped and I have a six pack, I wish. In the summer months I will go around 7 am before it becomes too hot and also so I can get there when it is still quiet. There are many people out at that time of the morning, some doing exercise, some walking their dogs and others are on the way to work. An hour later the commuters are coming out of the metro station and heading towards the city and you have to dodge them as you walk along the path. There are also the Tai Chi groups and the old ladies doing some sort of square dancing and so it can quite busy. At the two locations where they have the exercise equipment there too can sometimes have many people and you need to wait for your turn. This current situation we have is making life in the park wonderful.

It’s not only me that thinks so, there are a handful of regular souls taking advantage of the near empty park. Central Park is quite large and can accommodate thousands of people and so when there is only a handful that don’t even outnumber the security guards then it is bloody marvellous.

The other big winners of this crisis is the wildlife. Now when you go through the park in the morning you can hear and see many birds, they are everywhere and they have reclaimed the park and I think that is just great. Many Chinese don’t seem to have the same respect for nature but I’m glad to see that the birds can at least enjoy the peace and quiet too. I would love to go for a walk to the local mountain but it means sitting on the bus or metro for about an hour and I really don’t want to put myself in the position of being with too many people. No need to tempt fate me thinks. But if my mate Peter was to drive us there I would think that the mountains would a great place to go at the moment. His wife unfortunately will not let him out the door, not even to go for a walk in park so he has no chance of going to the mountains.

If all goes well I’ll be out of here in a month which am looking forward to. Sitting at home all the time and having to wear a mask when you go out is not such a fun lifestyle. Today at my local Muslim restaurant they told me that they can longer let us sit inside and they can only supply takeaway. The police came by earlier today and told them that’s the new rules. Mind you I was wondering how long it would be before this happened, after all you do need to remove your mask when eating………well I do.
