London Site Seeing Day 1

Up bright and early as you do when you have flown half way around the world and the sun was shining. I’m staying with Daniela and Mark and in Camberwell, south of the river Thames. I’m staying here because of Airbnb, this is my first experience using Airbnb and it’s great. Daniela and Mark are greatDSCF4813t hosts and have spent quite a bit of time chatting.

But I head off just after rush hour for some site seeing. I picked up my London pass in Leicester and then I’m off to explore. Mind you it seems that nothing opens until 10am here so don’t get up too early. I went to the National Portrait Gallery but the floor I wanted to see was not open, too early, so I went down passed 10 Downing Street20160711_114050.jpg and then to Westminster Abbey, followed by a cruise to Greenwich to see the Cutty Sark.

The weather was cold but by lunch time it had turned to  winter with squally showers and  bit of a breeze.

Unbelievably I bumped into Graham and Sandy from Australia, it’s a small world indeed.  They are in London for 3 days so it’s worked out really good.  We went for some dinner and as usual complained about the price of everything here.  Food is so expensive.

Got back to my digs around 8pm and it’s still almost broad daylight. I forgot just how long the sun stays up here and you really lose track of time.

Premium Plaza lounge Brisbane Airport

2016-07-09 10.17.34I do enjoy flying business class although it’s been a while since I’ve flown business to the UK, but you know it’s so much more civilised.

Having the lounge to rest is very pleasant and although there was booze on tap I opted for the super strength coffee but now I’m ready for a snooze. But as usual they’re always the individual’s that just go crazy.

Ma Hoose is empty

20160708_151334.jpgI have one more pair of boots to put in the garage and that’s me finished packing. I’m waiting for the real estate to come and check the house and grab the keys and then I’m officially homeless. My life of a drifter begins.

It’s sad leaving my wee car because I think she is a bit sick she’s definitely not 100%. I’m sure she is telling me in her own way not to leave her alone and I’ll miss her and my wee hoose.

But one good thing is that I can relax and wind down after a few crazy months.
