Up bright and early as you do when you have flown half way around the world and the sun was shining. I’m staying with Daniela and Mark and in Camberwell, south of the river Thames. I’m staying here because of Airbnb, this is my first experience using Airbnb and it’s great. Daniela and Mark are greatt hosts and have spent quite a bit of time chatting.
But I head off just after rush hour for some site seeing. I picked up my London pass in Leicester and then I’m off to explore. Mind you it seems that nothing opens until 10am here so don’t get up too early. I went to the National Portrait Gallery but the floor I wanted to see was not open, too early, so I went down passed 10 Downing Street and then to Westminster Abbey, followed by a cruise to Greenwich to see the Cutty Sark.
The weather was cold but by lunch time it had turned to winter with squally showers and bit of a breeze.
Unbelievably I bumped into Graham and Sandy from Australia, it’s a small world indeed. They are in London for 3 days so it’s worked out really good. We went for some dinner and as usual complained about the price of everything here. Food is so expensive.
Got back to my digs around 8pm and it’s still almost broad daylight. I forgot just how long the sun stays up here and you really lose track of time.
