That’s a big tree………

The days are becoming cooler which makes it easier to function out in the garden, although the UV is still extreme. I’ve fixed the burst pipe and fixed up the path and I’m continuing to sieve the gravel so that I can recycle it before I get some mulch. I need to rearrange things a little bit. I went to the markets this morn and picked up a few more succulents for a new garden bed which I’ve created.

The other day, just up the street, a band of tree loppers arrived on site to take down a huge tree. I’m not sure of its height but it must have been over 30 m in height. They started at around 8am and finished around 4 pm, but they had to come back the next morning to tidy up some of the larger branches. I’ll need to cut down the tree in my backyard in a month’s time or so, it’s around 7 m tall but it will still be quite daunting to tackle it as I don’t have any fancy equipment like those professionals.

Last weekend was Easter and so it was a four day week, which was my first week driving a fixed school run with Sunshine Buses. It’s good that I can cycle to and from the job which allows me to get a few more rides in on the bike.

I also managed to pick up a 6 m aluminium plank to go with my two trestles which will now allow me to start on the house painting; I’m hoping to start within the month after I’ve finished the top half of the garden.

I haven’t done a great deal over the last two weeks, apart from a bit of work I’ve worked in the garden and finished another book, Ben Elton’s book “Blind Faith” is brilliant…….definitely worth a read.
